Clay tile roofing at the penthouse is complete. Penthouse plaster and roof gutter is ongoing. Exterior building scratch & brown coats are complete. Exterior polystyrene is ongoing. 1st floor framing is complete, hollow metal frames are installed, drywall and insulation is complete. 2nd floor drywall taping is ongoing, MEP rough-in is finishing up, cement board at restroom is complete, and ceiling framing is ongoing. 3rd floor second layer of drywall is ongoing, low wall framing is complete, and science room layout changes are ongoing.
Clay tile roofing to start this month at penthouse, 3rd floor electrical & mechanical rough-in is nearing complete, 3rd floor plumbing rough-in is ongoing, 3rd floor framing is ongoing, 2nd floor framing is in progress, and 2nd floor drywall has commenced with 2nd floor electrical rough-in is ongoing. 2nd & 3rd floor duct shaft framing is complete. The exterior plaster is progressing starting on the South side and moving around the building following the exterior sheet metal.
Roof framing is complete, PVC roofing started, 3rd floor wall framing is complete, 3rd floor plumbing & heating ventilation and AC rough-in is in progress. The 2nd floor electrical rough-in is progressing this month. The 2nd floor stud framing is ongoing and the 2nd floor has also started drywall on the priority walls. The 2nd & 3rd floor duct shaft framing is ongoing. Concrete is poured at stair pans, fire proofing at the underside of the stairs is ongoing. The exterior sheathing is complete and the exterior sheet metal is progressing.
The slab pour back is complete. High roof penthouse framing has started. Exterior scaffolding is complete which starts the exterior frame. At the interior, the fireproofing is complete. The wall framing is ongoing at 3rd level. Initial drywall has started on the 3rd level. Fire sprinkler rough-in is complete. Electrical and Plumbing rough-in is ongoing at all levels. HVAC duct rough-in & VAV boxes are installed at all levels. HVAC pads are poured at the roof.
Steel erection is complete and the high roof penthouse structure is ongoing. Metal deck installation is complete at the roof level pending the penthouse. Concrete is complete on grade, 2nd, 3rd and roof. Fireproofing is ongoing. Framer has started at the second level and loaded the exterior framing. MEP contractors are installing rough-in. Exterior studs are stocked around the building and scaffolding is progressing around the building.
Steel erection is nearly complete and focus is on the high roof penthouse, perimeter bent plate and completing their punchlist. West stairway installation is complete. Metal deck installation is complete on the 2nd & 3rd levels and ongoing at the roof level. Steel contractor is installing decking plate at the roof level & deck penetrations. Elevator pit is waterproofed and backfilled. Sand & reinforcing is complete for the second slab pour. Framer has started to install exterior framing clips and top track. Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing contractors continue to install deck penetrations.
All footings where completed this month. West stairway was set this month. The metal deck installation commenced with the completion through gridline 12. Steel erection continues to progress. Flatwork at the north-west corner of the site is complete for the start of school access. Elevator pit is poured.
Electrician has completed installing underground conduit throughout the campus for low voltage tie-in to the existing infrastructure.
This month the status of the excavation increased to include some additional flat work that was started upon the completion of summer school. The slab is poured for portion of the building. The elevator pit floor was poured this month. The steel erection commenced this month with the standing of numerous columns for the structure. The off site utility work is complete in the street.
The electrician this month was installing underground conduit throughout the campus for low voltage tie-in to the existing infrastructure.
Footings have been poured from grid line 18 to 8. West side slab edge has been dug and under slab utilities have started. Slab on grade edge forms is ongoing. Offsite utility tie in work for fire hydrants, reclaimed water, domestics water and fire services is ongoing. Elevator pit forming is ongoing.
Underground plumbing and electrical is complete for the building. Footing excavation has stated and reinforcing bar is in progress at the building foundation. Offsite utility tie-in has started which requires digging in Fourth street. Structural Steel deliveries have continued to be received this month.
Building E:
City approval of offsite work was received on 3/16/16. Building pad was partially graded to allow for the underground utilities on the west side of the site to be started. Existing driveway approaches were removed and the rocks were removed from the site. South hall stairs were poured. Grid lines were surveyed, footings were laid out and underground plumbing has started.
Fencing:
All access points to the campus were open to pedestrian traffic in March. The monument sign area at the main Euclid entrance remains fenced off pending final commissioning.
Building E: Shoring was installed along the north and east ends of the project. Temporary fencing was relocated out to the street to allow for the grader to continue over-excavation at the southern end of the site. The stairs down to the basement of South Hall Building were installed.
Fence Update: Administration parking area completed and turned over to the client.
Main entry concrete columns and flatwork completed, fencing installed and gate installation started. The gate entries will be opened for pedestrian traffic by March 7th and the monument sign area will remain fenced.
Monument sign consists of three separate concrete pours and installation of electronic marque sign. First two pours were completed by the end of February.
With the new electrical and SC Edison work complete, the focus this month was on the completion of the balance of the underground utilities. A new domestic water line was installed to feed Building E and a new fire line was completed and temporarily tied into the existing backflow. The new storm water line on the East side was completed as well. With the underground utilities out of the building foot print, the team commenced the shoring activities with drilling for the shoring piles.
The fence project continued to progress with the admin parking area seeing the installation of the new light poles, pouring of the curb and gutters and the asphalt paving in the parking stalls. Also the main sidewalk adjacent to the quad was poured and the fencing installation began.
At the main entrance on Euclid grading was completed and the underground infrastructure installed.
At West Hall the South parking area patches were completed and seal coating installed and the area is ready for stripping.
Building E progress this month was focused on completing the Southern California Edison work required to install new equipment. The electrical contractor completed the new electrical vaults and new conduits to feed the SCE equipment. SCE installed their equipment and completed the power switch over in December.
Fencing progress this month advanced in several areas. At the bus turn around area, the fence posts footings were dug, posts planted and majority of the hardscape was poured. Fence posts and man gates, swing gates and cantilever gates were installed. On Fifth Street. the chain link gates were completed. Both man gates and swing gates. In the Administration Parking area, demo was completed and grading has commenced. At the main entrance the demo of the hardscape and the monument sign was completed. At the two secondary entrances (Euclid North and Euclid South) fence and gate installation was completed. At the fire lane between the cafeteria and Building P, existing gates were demoed, new concrete columns installed, fence and gates were started.
Building E Demolition is nearly complete. Utility contractor is currently locating existing utilities. Electrical contractor is installing new SCE vaults and running new conduits.
Security Fencing project starting in the first week of November with progress along the Euclid Avenue and between the Building S. Progress commenced on various 5th street fences as well.
The central plant this month was painted and roofing was complete. The landscaping has started and the bike rack is in progress. The commissioning of the new air handlers continues and the fire alarm system installation is progressing.
The project of work includes but is not limited to, replacing the mechanical units located in the basement with new ground-mounted air handler units, new roof-mounted air handler units, new duct work, new central plant chiller, plant equipment, new masonry equipment screen walls with roof structure, relocated bike enclosure and misc. patch & repair work for associative work.
The central plant had the metal stud framing completed with the sheeting following and lath and plaster in progress. The Chiller, boiler, variable frequency drives have been started up and the automated controls are in progress.
The foyer and balcony have the finishes installed and grills are installed and completed. The classroom area and lower roofs have all hydronic, duct and electrical connections are complete to AHU 2&3.

The hydronic piping continued this month into the building and the associated insulation is in progress. The new steel supports at the classrooms were completed this month. The new central plant walls are in progress. The ductwork for the new Air Handling Units is being delivered and assembled in the basement. The crawl space is prepared to receive the new ductwork with the completion of the slab and ductwork support footings.

The project demolition of the old heating system, associated motors and ductwork were completed this month. The excavation for the new central plant was completed and the gas line was relocated outside the footprint of the plant foundation. The site drainage was completed and the underground piping for the chiller commenced.
